1. Introduction

Bible Trivia – Play & Learn ("the app," "we," "us") is developed and published by GHTE Studios, operating under Guru Hi-Tech Engineering, based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. This policy describes what the app actually collects and how it's handled, reflecting its real implementation rather than a boilerplate list. It's written to meet Google Play's Developer Program Policies and Data Safety disclosure requirements.

2. Information We Collect

You can use Bible Trivia fully as a Guest, with no account and no personal information collected. Creating an account is optional and only needed if you want your profile to sync a sign-in state.

  • Account information (only if you sign in): If you choose to sign in with Google, or create an email/password account, we collect your email address and, for Google sign-in, the name and profile photo URL already on your Google account. This is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service — we do not receive or store your Google or email password ourselves.
  • Quiz progress and profile, stored only on your device: your quiz progress, XP, coins, streaks, and achievements, along with your in-app display name and bio, are saved using local on-device storage. This data is never uploaded to our servers.
  • Profile photo (optional, local only): if you take a photo with your camera or choose one from your photo library to use as your profile picture, it is copied into the app's private local storage on your device and is never uploaded anywhere — not to us, not to any third party. The Camera and Photo Library permissions are requested only when you actively choose to set a profile photo.
  • Crash and diagnostic data: the app uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to automatically collect technical data — device model, OS version, app version, and crash stack traces — when something goes wrong, so we can find and fix bugs. This does not include your quiz progress, profile content, or photos.

The app does not access your precise or approximate location, contacts, microphone, files outside of the profile-photo feature above, or any advertising identifier.

3. How We Use Information

  • To run the app's core features: quizzes, progress tracking, achievements, and (if you sign in) keeping your account state current.
  • To diagnose crashes and technical issues and improve app stability, using Crashlytics data.
  • To respond to you if you contact support.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use any data collected by this app for advertising purposes.

4. Advertising

Bible Trivia does not currently show ads, and no advertising SDK (such as Google AdMob) is integrated or active in the app. The app's codebase includes a placeholder internal interface reserved for a possible future ads feature, but it has no vendor implementation wired in and does not run in the current release — no ad-related data is collected or shared. If advertising is added in a future update, this policy and the app's Google Play Data Safety listing will be updated to disclose it, including any identifiers or data the ad SDK would collect, before that update ships.

5. Third-Party Services

The app relies on the following third-party services, all provided by Google LLC as part of Firebase:

  • Firebase Authentication — powers optional Google Sign-In and email/password sign-in.
  • Google Sign-In — used for the "Continue with Google" option specifically.
  • Firebase Crashlytics — automatic crash and diagnostic reporting, described above.
  • Cloud Firestore — reserved for an in-development "Jesus AI" chat assistant feature. This feature exists in the app's code but is switched off and does not run in the current public release — no Firestore data is written or read by the version currently on Google Play. If it's enabled in a future update, chat messages you send would be relayed through our backend to OpenAI, L.L.C. for generating a response, and the conversation would be stored in Firestore under your account so it can be retrieved later. We will update this policy and the app's Data Safety section before enabling that feature.

Each of these services is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Account data you provide when signing in (email, name, Google profile photo URL) and crash/diagnostic data are processed by Firebase/Google as our infrastructure provider, under Google's own security and privacy terms. Your quiz progress, profile details, and any profile photo stay on your device and are not shared with anyone because they never leave it.

7. Data Security

Sign-in and crash data are transmitted to Firebase over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and protected by Google's infrastructure security. Locally stored data (progress, profile, photo) is protected by your device's own operating-system app sandboxing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Bible Trivia is suitable for a general audience but is not specifically directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information (such as an email address via account sign-in) from children under that age without appropriate consent. The app can be used fully as a Guest without providing any personal information. If you believe a child has created an account or provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us at the email below and we will delete it.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Locally-stored data (quiz progress, achievements, profile, photo): you can permanently erase everything the app has stored on your device at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by uninstalling the app.
  • Account sign-in data (email, Google profile info) held by Firebase Authentication: the in-app Delete Account action clears your local app data but does not itself remove the underlying Firebase sign-in record. To request full deletion of that record, email us at the address below and we will delete it within a reasonable time.
  • Crash/diagnostic data collected by Crashlytics is retained by Google/Firebase according to Google's own data retention practices.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes — for example, if the Jesus AI feature or an advertising SDK is enabled in a future release. We'll update the effective date above when changes are made, and for material changes we'll make reasonable efforts to note it in the app itself.
